Pinterest Adds Amazon Storefront Links to Boost Affiliate Marketing
Pinterest announced the launch of Amazon Storefront link functionality, enabling eligible creators to display their Amazon store name on their Pinterest profile and automatically tag Amazon products in Pins without manually adding affiliate links or IDs. This move aims to enhance the in-platform shopping experience while driving more traffic to the Amazon Associates program.

"Sociable" is the latest commentary by industry expert Andrew Hutchinson (from Social Media Today) on key social media developments and trends.
Pinterest is simplifying in-app affiliate marketing opportunities through a newAmazon Storefront link option, enabling Amazon Storefront creators to easily add affiliate links to their Pins.

Amazon Storefronts allow creators to set up their own recommended product shops within Amazon, showcasing items to shoppers and earning commissions from related sales.
Now, Storefront users will be able to easily extend their promotions to Pins, boosting discovery potential on both platforms.
As Pinterest explains: "With this feature, eligible creators will see their Amazon Storefront name displayed directly on their Pinterest profile, offering users another way to discover recommended items and products from creators they trust."

Pinterest says the update will make it easier for creators to tag Amazon products in Pins, with Pinterest automatically applying their Amazon affiliate information, "without the need to manually add affiliate links or IDs."
This could provide a significant boost to Amazon's affiliate program, while also giving creators more reasons to post content on Pinterest and stay active in the app.
In fact, according to Pinterest data, more than 50% of its631 million monthly active userscome to the platform to shop, generating over 8 billion in-app searches each month.
This represents a massive potential reach for the Amazon affiliate program. At the same time, simplified linking will make it easier to drive attributed sales within the app.
This is another step in Pinterest's broader shopping evolution, as it strives to become the "mall of the internet," facilitating wider discovery and in-stream shopping activity.
